Contributor



A contributor is a person or corporate body that has taken part in the creation of a work or product. Contributors are, for example, authors, translators, editors, etc.

The role in which a person or a corporate body participated in a work is one of the most important pieces of information and is therefore mandatory. The name of the person or corporate body must be given for each contributor.

Format notes

Persons (field 100)

Name of the person in inverted order (last name, first name) in subfield $a. Specification of the role as code in subfield $4. Since first authors are specified in category 100, the code is always "aut". If the author has an assigned identifier, e.g. a GND number, an ISNI or an ORCID, this may additionally be recorded in subfield $0. The identifier type is specified in brackets before the number.

Corporate bodies (field 110)

Name of the corporate body in subfield $a. Specification of the role as code in subfield $4. Since corporate bodies as first authors are specified in category 110, the code is always "aut". If the author has an assigned identifier, e.g. a GND number, an ISNI or an ORCID, this may additionally be recorded in subfield $0. The identifier type is specified in brackets before the number.

The name of persons is preferably given in inverted order in the element <PersonNameInverted> resp. <b037>.

If a contributor has an assigned identifier, e.g. a GND number, an ISNI or an ORCID, this may be specified in the <NameIdentifier> resp. <nameidentifier> element.
